Over the years, I have been privileged to participate in a wide range of digitalization initiatives. I have engaged with the biggest players in Finland, as well as small and mid-sized companies and global corporations. Industrial AI offering

Strategic design

Facilitating a cross-functional development of the service offering for technology service company. The focus has been on the manufacturing industry’s key challenges and how to address them with data and AI. Work included leading the co-creative process, conducting market research, and conceptualising the solution, as well as positioning and messaging creation.

Brand strategy renewal

Strategic planning

Acting as a steering group member in the brand and value renewal of a global publicly listed technology company focusing on industrial digitalization. In collaboration with group executives and other steering group members, guiding the creation of brand strategy, positioning, vision, and values.

AI for Engineering-to-Order optimization

Advisory, Strategic design

Defined objectives and strategy for a advisory approach improving ETO process performance and quality. Guided the identification and prioritization of multiple high-impact use cases for AI, data, and automation. The resulting concept established the foundation for AI development, supported by a phased roadmap, success metrics, and change strategies ensuring business alignment and measurable efficiency gains.

Digitalization & AI on the shop floor

Strategic design, Project management, Change management

Facilitating a process, managing the project and advising on human-centred design in identifying digital solutions, introducing new working methods, and exploring the potential of AI on the shop floor with international cross-functional teams, from executives to operators. Following successful pilot experiments, the outcomes were analyzed to evaluate organizational impact, leading to a business case to scale new ways of working across the organization.

Leading digital design and transforming complex business requirements and end-customer needs into solution definitions, product roadmaps, and digital concepts in a regulated, high-safety industry. Alongside requirements analysis and product design, I supported the design team to ensure effective ways of working and alignment with project KPIs, while also contributing to project steering and key decision-making.

Modern human–machine ways of working

Advisory, Design leadership, Concept design, UX/UI design

Led and contributed to multiple client projects aimed at improving efficiency, usability, and modern digital ways of working in industrial and connected environments, many of which within IT/OT contexts. Responsibilities included creating design strategies and digital concepts for factory automation, control systems, HMI, MES, ERP, and IoT solutions, as well as shaping end-to-end digital workflows. This involved introducing automation and data-driven methods, and enabling more integrated, streamlined, and collaborative human–machine interactions across industrial operations.

Data-driven decision-making in plants

Advisory, Project management

Led the project and advised the team on an initiative aimed at supporting daily decision-making by providing meaningful data to plant operators through a diagnostics solution. In addition to guiding the team, my role included approach selection, objective setting, project leadership, process facilitation, and high-level requirements gathering.

Production defect detection

Concept design

Acting as lead designer to design an inspection tool for production line. The goal was to reduce the number of missed defects in operations and decrease reclamation costs. The project aimed to enhance the human–machine collaboration: automating relevant parts of the process using image recognition and exploring the potential of machine learning.

Warehouse optimization with AI

Contributing to a strategic business development initiative focused on the digitalization and optimization of warehouses using data and AI. As the first technical solution, we developed and introduced an AI-based cloud platform for product storing and picking, designed to reduce costs, improve logistics processes, and enhance warehouse operators’ ways of working.

Identifying digital opportunities

Business design, Service design

Acting as a business and service designer with a logistics service provider. The aim of this project was to identify areas where the B2B customer experience could be improved through digitalization. Business potential was recognized, with one solution now proceeding to further definition.

Situational awareness & robotics control

Participating in developing solutions for warehousing systems (WMS, WES, WCS), focusing on modern cloud- and web-based HMI creation. Aim was to improve situational awareness by bringing relevant data from devices and machinery together. Business requirements gathering and translating them into digital concepts.

Last mile service platform

Concept design, UX design

Acting as concept designer in a project, in which B2C mobile service channel was created in the field of logistics. The aim was to improve end-customer experience and last mile delivery service with a digital customer platform built on top of customer warehouse management system (WMS).

Energy

New business with digital services

Design leadership, Service design

Acting as lead designer in a project in which B2B and B2C customer service portals were created for energy distribution system operator. The aim of the project was to turn the identified business opportunity into a digital service. My responsibilities included facilitating the digital product strategy process, conducting market research, and designing the service concept.

Developing the user experience

UX design, UI design, Concept design

Acting as a digital designer for B2C mobile service development. The aim of this project was to improve customer experience providing digital fuelling, car wash, and payment services. In addition, facilitating the process in which customer strategic objective was turned into a roadmap for future features in the mobile service.
